WEEDS & VEGETATION
Did you know that Weed complaints are by far the biggest complaint that Code Enforcement receives?
Just a little factoid.

Vegetation
Who among us doesn't like to see cactus, trees and shrubs all growing? I know I do but sometimes they become overgrown and become a nuisance :-( It's none of our business if this is within person's private property. It's also between neighbors if this is extending over property lines.
It's the public's business when it interferes in the public right-of-way or onto/over the street.
None of us want to find our vehicles or trucks being scratched by tree branches that are too low over the street. This can also pose a danger to high-profile trucks. Low branches can also force vehicles to move out of their lane to avoid them.
Many of our streets still don't have sidewalks but we have the right to walk in that easement directly next to the street. If vegetation is obstructing our right-of-way, it is now considered a nuisance and needs to be cut back.
Too often people also just leave dead vegetation and trees. If you believe a dead tree could pose a risk to people or structures if it fell or if dead vegetation could pose a fire hazard, it's time to report it. Let the inspectors make the call on it but don't find yourself regretting not filing a complaint and somebody was hurt. Dead vegetation and trees can create a huge fire in just seconds.
It doesn't matter to CoT if people don't bother to trim their bushes, shrubs and cactus up! They don't have to be neat to be in compliance!
